Potomac Valley Labrador Retriever Specialty 4/12-4/14
Saturday, 15 April 2006
Two of our Lab puppies had an exceptional showing at the Potomac Valley Labrador Retriever Specialty held April 12 through the 14th in Fredrick Maryland. This show, was the largest gathering of Labrador Retrievers ever to be together in one place in the world in all history! There were over 1500 Labradors present at this show!
Thanks to the gentle handling of Sue Whaley, PHA, Bliss (Patuxent’s Nobless Oblige), our six month old chocolate female out of “Diva” (Belquest Lady Godiva), took second place in the Chocolate Puppy Bitch 6-9 mos. class. Bliss competed against 13 puppies on Thursday under judge Barbara Reisig-Paveglio. On Friday, she had another great day, placing fourth in the regular Chocolate Puppy Bitch 6-9 month class under judge Anne Lavelle. There were 14 puppies in the class. Bliss’ sire, MarshyHope’s Extra Stout, won the Open Chocolate Dog class.
Belle (Pully’s Patuxent Bella Luna), our 12 month old yellow female, took second in her Yellow Puppy Bitch 12-15 month class on Wednesday under Mrs. Barbara Resig-Paveglio. Thursday, Belle had an incredible go in a large (over 40) class of 12-18 month Yellow Bitches. Judged by Mrs. Anne Lavelle, the class was divided in half. Five dogs were pulled out of each group, judging the final ten dogs for the four winning places. Belle was pulled out second in her group, but, unfortunately, did not win one of the final four ribbons. However, to be pulled out into the final ten out of such a large class was an honor! We are very proud of our girls!
